The Tupelo Film Commission
Our site is temporarily under construction and work to improve information for you, the filmmaker, is in progress.
The Tupelo Film Commission was established in 1989 and supports production
requests, assists with location scouting, works as a liaison between Production Company and municipality, and understands the cost-effective and time efficient concerns of a production. The Tupelo Film Commission works with the state MS Film Office and is a member of Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI).
The State of Mississippi offers a MS Motion Picture Incentive Program "HB 1161 - The Film Bill". The Program will improve the existing Mississippi Motion Picture Incentive Act by 5%. The slight increase will make a huge difference in our ability to attract the film industry. Additionally, it qualifies streaming video and internet delivery for national distribution and adds new technology (motion capture, animation, 3D applications, video game cinematics, and visual effects) which will help filmmakers working in Mississippi.
As a southern town, our climate is usually on the warmer trend, however, pending cold fronts that move through in the winter or dry spells in the summer we sometimes experience below or above temps that are not the norms.
Thanks for your patience as we continue to work towards bringing you a site with updated information for your upcoming production in Tupelo. Please contact prasberry@tupelo.net or call 662-841-6521 if you have questions. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
