I’m Tom Booth, executive director of the Tupelo Community Theatre for the last 15 years. Although I live in Wren, MS, Tupelo is a very important part of my daily life. When I arrived at an audition at the Lyric Theatre 25 years ago I was welcomed even though I knew no one. I find the entire city to be that way.

Tom's Favorite Things to Do in Tupelo

What is your favorite thing to do in Tupelo?

I love the wonderful variety of restaurants and bars we have in Tupelo. Downtown has turned into a real food and drink destination.

Where is your favorite place to experience Tupelo's local flavor?

Café 212 at lunch is Tupelo personified. It does not matter if you are having a lunch meeting, visiting with friends over food, or just quietly relaxing for a few minutes on one of the couches in the back. Comfort at its best!

What's your favorite Elvis song and why?

“Can’t help Falling In Love” This is the finale to a musical I directed at Tupelo Community Theatre. The passion in the lyrics like “Take my hand, take my whole life too, For I can't help falling in love with you,“ is the magic people only can dream of.

Good Morning Tom,I am a country music recording artist and my new song out on country radio "Winnebago" references, your town, Tupelo. I was hoping for some guidance I can share with my team regarding your board of tourism. We would like to make Tupelo one of our stops on our Winnebago Tour crossing the country this summer.
